Languages are more than just a collection of words. Grammar, phrases, and expressions all come together to convey thoughts and ideas.

Because of this, direct translations usually aren’t 1:1.

If you want to stop mentally translating, the best way is to practice understanding the meaning without relying on direct translations. This takes some practice, but it’s worth it!
