True Beauty, or 여신강림, is a very long-running WebToon. The WebToon has over 166 episodes available in German at the time of writing (10/27/2022) this article.
True Beauty starts off very strong, with a semi-photo realistic art style and a wholesome plot. The gist of the story is that an ugly girl uses her makeup like a mask to disguise her true self. The comic, being so long-running, may have jumped the shark at some point and devolved into cliché romances, but for our purposes (learning German) that isn’t always a bad thing.
The art is pretty photorealistic, and was definitely unique at the time that the comic was first drawn. I however rate the visual interest as being kind of low. I prefer more classic “anime or manga” style artwork in my comics. The comic is also very obviously written with the female gaze. Not a bad thing, mind you, but it isn’t my preferred art style.

Auf die Erde gefallen, or “Down To Earth” is an American original WebToon. It debuted as a “canvas”, or unofficial WebToon, before later relaunching as a Naver original.
The story is simple. ALIEN GIRLFRIEND. That is right, the classic “my girlfriend/boyfriend is an alien” trope we see in web fiction.
Being an American original, and semi-amateurish lends to a quaint fan-art aesthetic that lends to a nice weeby art style.
Chock-full of fun character development, and very sweet characters, it isn’t a bad recommendation to start off with. Especially if you were an edgy mall rat in 2008 who hung out at hot topic and liked mainstream cable anime.

Fun animals (doggo), a bit of Romance, and even social-anxiety. This webtoon is sure to ring true with a lot of readers.
Follow the story of the MC as her life is thrown into chaos after her game is criticized and the critic in question becomes her new neighbor!
